Art Show - Decorative Plates
This year we will again be holding an Art Show at the end of the year. However, this year, students will be decorating plates which will be on display for everyone to view. Each student will individually decorate a plate with special paint. These plates will come home with baking instructions as to how to set the paint so that it does not wash off. Each plate ordered will be unique. These plates need to be pre-ordered and there is no limit on how many you can purchase. These are a great Christmas gift idea for friends and relatives. All funds raised will contribute to the commissioning of art work to further enhance the creative and attractive appearance of our school grounds. COST:$10 per plate. Please bring correct money. NOTE: Please return permission note to the school office or class teacher by the end of November along with payment.
Multicultural Day
Hopefully everyone is excited for Multicultural Day, next Wednesday 22nd November. Please remember to wear clothes on the day, from your own family heritage. EG; if Grandma was from Japan, you can either wear Japanese clothing or clothes the colour of the Japanese flag. Don't forget to also bring along a plate of food from that culture too. This will be shared with your classmates. Parents, please remember we are unable to heat up food. Please bring along food that does not require heating up or parents may bring it along at lunch eating time. The students will enjoy a variety of fun and hands-on activities from many different cultures. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop in and see me or ring me at school.
Indonesian Ambassador Program
We have two visiting Indonesian university students visiting and working along with the students this term. This gives the students a great opportunity to ask as many questions as they wish about Indonesia and the culture. They can also learn more of Indonesian words and sentences. If you see Wulan or Wilin around the school, please introduce yourself and have a chat.

PE NEWS
Our Colour Run was a great success. It was a beautiful day to be running around Elizabeth Bridge and getting colour thrown at us. A thank-you to all that came and supports us on the day. I would also like to thank all the teachers for coming out and supporting the day. I think some of them enjoyed it more than the kids.
TENNIS
On Wednesday this week saw 10 of our year 5/6 students playing in the Hot Shots Tennis Regional finals. They played against 7 other schools. There was lots of competition and our students did their best on the day considering the weather. (hot and sticky) Well done to all the students that played they had a great time.
What's happening in PE
Our senior and middle students have just finished a 3 week program with touch rugby course where they were taught the skills of the game. This will have them in good stead with next year when it comes to our games with inter-school sport.
We are now developing our cricket skills with a 4 week clinic. The students are seeing how the skills of cricket also transfer into tennis, hockey, baseball, softball and even swimming. It is great to see them making these connections.
Our Foundation and Junior students are continually working on their Fundermental Motor Skills which include throwing and catching skills, bouncing, kicking, jumping, leaping, skipping. It is wonderful to see those students who were unable to skip at the start of the year to now being able to do that.
