Colour Run

What a terrific run we had around Elizabeth Bridge with many colours adding to our tshirts!  Thank you to everyone for making our students enjoy the run!  We hope this is a regular event at KPS! This weekend I'm heading to Flemington to do the Colour Run with some of the staff here - lookout!

Fun in the Sun!

The past few weeks has seen us doing many of our activities outside in the nice weather!  We've explored poetry, in particular, Haiku poetry. We have taken our clipboards outside to observe and gather ideas and plan our writing. Students have developed skills and word knowledge about word parts and vowel sounds which lends itself to spelling and writing.

In our reading we are in the process of looking at new goals and some of our students will be focussing on their fluency.  This is reading words with expression - changing the tone of our voice. It would be great if you could practise this at home too!

We have also practised using some directional words in Maths.  This exposure has helped to develop students oral language and use specific words to explain directions and the location of objects in our environment.

Multicultural Day

Next Wednesday is Multicultural Day.  Please read the notice that was sent home.  This year students are asked to dress in colours of a country of their choice.  It can be related to cultural background or something that they are interested in.  They will also need to bring a SMALL plate of some nibbles to share with our class at lunchtime.

Stay in touch

Please keep a close eye on the calendar as there is lots happening in December.  Be sure to text, call or email if you have any questions about what's coming up.  Keep the play dates happening between your child and other children as new friendships are beginning to form and other friendships are developing.

We have our excursion to Mornington Beach, the Jump Disco, Community Carols.  Please let me know if you would like to come to the beach with us on Wednesday 6th December.

Enjoy your weekend!
