The Sensory Space

The library recently opened The Sensory Space, a dedicated area for small group study and exam preparation. Staff and students can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in contrast to the pace of daily school life. Thanks to Mr Darren Patching for creating this sanctuary for Killester community.

Makerspace

Every Tuesday at lunch time in the Library, students are invited to join in a creative,  or craft activity. Makerspace provides hands on learning, helps with critical thinking skills and boosts self-confidence. An enthusiastic group of students regularly join us to work on different ideas.  So far this year, we have made cards and hearts for Valentine’s day, a display for Project Compassion, completed word puzzles and made badges displaying  the 2020 school motto. We have also created chatterboxes and mandelas

Last week we made stress balls with balloons and rice. This activity was so popular we ran out of balloons.  Enthusiastic students spilled rice over the tables and the floor, but all were proud of their finished product.
