Inquiry Centre

Curriculum
We had an amazing week! The Teachers had a great day on Thursday and have planned exciting activities for Term 3!
In Mathematics sessions last week, we focused on Time and Calendars. Students had a lot of fun reading the text ‘Diary of a Worm’ and noting down the dates from the texts and then writing down what they noticed about the calendar. Students worked in groups and creating huge clocks and showing everything that know about reading times and clocks! Finally we explored drawing different times and made connections to the ways time can be read and shown.
In Writing, students continued with procedural writing and are experts now! We conducted an experiment and made water walk then completed a procedure for all of the steps and materials needed. The students also did an incredible job selecting a school day task such as writing in their log book, buying Pleasant Snacks and participating in a fire drill. They then worked in teams to create steps using command verbs and recorded a role to demonstrate their steps.
For the Guided Inquiry unit last week, we reviewed our predictions and looked at the rubbish we buried. Overall we have learnt so much this Term about how to have a light footprint.
Enjoy your week,
Mrs Emily Sutherland, Mrs Emma McCoy, Miss Megan Campbell, Mr Aidan O’Connor, Miss Emma Marsh, Miss Emma Honan and Miss Emily Kiefte
