A true reflection

Who do you see in the mirror?

Over the past few weeks, the Orange team at Curiosity have been exploring the book that holds all of God's special stories, the Bible.  Many questions have been coming out of our 'Morning Together Times', such as, "Where does God live?" and "How do I see God?"  The wonder of children gives us the opportunity to stop and ponder some of these questions for us ourselves as adults.  For a child, the innocence of believing in something that they can not see is an opportunity to build faith, and trust that something exists even when we can not see it.

As people who believe in God and experience him for ourselves we see his nature and character unfold in the many interactions that we have with each other, the situations that we face and more importantly in our own reflection in the mirrors or windows that reflect back to us everyday.

The first story in the Bible that we have been exploring is that of Creation, the beginning of all things good.

We read this story in Genesis and in Chapter 1, verse 27 we read, "God spoke:  Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature...reflecting God's nature."  Our children have been exploring the truth that after God created the world, he knew that it was important to share it with others and that he left until last, his favourite thing to create  - mankind.

As we have been exploring who God is together, we are beginning to see his nature in us.  God is gracious, merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love (Psalm 145:8).  For children who are realising that they are part of a big world, we pray that our friends at Curiosity will reflect the love of God towards each other and come to a greater understanding of God's love for them too.

I wonder what you see when you see your reflection?
