Reminders

Punctuality
Throughout this week students have been reminded that school starts with Homegroup at 8:45 am. Homegroup:-
- provides invaluable information for the day ahead,
- is where absences are recorded and,
- most importantly, is the time we offer a prayer for the day.
Homegroup serves as an ecellent platform which sets everyone up for a day of great learning. Homegroup is valued at Mater Dei because, aside from its important functions, it also provides a sense of belonging for students.
When reflecting on the above, I am sure you understand the importance of students to be prompt for Homegroup. Therefore, we expect students to be on time for school. The policy regarding lateness has always been that if students arrive to school after 8:45 am, they are required to have a note explaining the reason for their lateness. However, already this year we have had a number of students arrive later than 8:45am without a note. and we don't want this pattern to become a habit.
As such, students have been informed that, commencing next week, students who arrive late to Homegroup without a note will be given a lunchtime detention. If they repeat the behaviour within the same week, they will receive an after school detention.
Absentee Notes
With any absence, and in accordance with government requirements, parents are obligated to formally notify the College of the reason for their child's absence. The College has updated the Absentee Note which can be accessed on our website at Student Services
Traffic Arrangements Pick Up and Drop Off
The vehicle “drop-off and pick-up area” is the Western side of Plunkett Drive. Once parents have completed their drop off or pick up they are to proceed down Plunkett Drive, enter the turning bay in front of our Trade Training Centre (Café) Car Park and then make their way back up Plunkett Drive. Parents are asked to adhere to this arrangement. Please do not enter the Bus bay or the Main College Car Park as this adds to the congestion.
