Playball Incursions

The wonderful world of Playball!

Playball provides programs using physical education as a vehicle to support and contribute to the highest level possible of quality education available to children.

GEKA is delighted to work in partnership with the organisation Playball, to deliver opportunities for children to explore their gross motor skills and enjoy being active.

Playball is a specialised sports program for children between the ages of 2 and 5. Playball uses sport and structured physical play as a vehicle to support and contributes to the highest level possible of quality education available to children.  The Playball program scaffolds children’s learning and provides a strong foundation on which to build.  Guided by the Framework, Playball provides an alternate pathway to children’s learning with the vision of the whole child as its central focus.

Playball can be seen as a great support to services, facilitating and assisting in the provision of best practise to build both strong individuals and communities. Playball sees itself as part of the team of specialists who extend learning opportunities for children understanding that these are crucial years in a child’s life.

Playball delivers a program which:

  • Provides a fun, active and engaging learning environment where children can improve their mental and physical health
  • Prioritises the  creation of positive, healthy and confident children
  • Provides its own equipment which is  safe and encourages appropriate levels of risks and challenges
  • Works with small groups of children, enabling sufficient individual attention and allowing children to  develop at their own pace
  • Allows children to develop self-awareness while also developing teamwork and other social skills
  • Considers and facilitates in the collaboration with teachers and families
  • Provides content for daily reflection after every class
  • Provides a lens through which teachers can gather information, observe, evaluate and access
  • Is delivered by trained coaches with first aid certificates and working with children clearances.

"The Playball program scaffolds children’s learning and facilitates in the development of confident and involved learners."

"Playball provides professional physical education program taught by trained coaches which lays the foundation for healthy development in all areas of a child’s life. We support services to help children reach their full potential. The Playball program is guided by the National Quality Framework and its outcomes."

Particular thanks and recognition goes to Victor Rondi, Director of Playball, for his commitment to GEKA over a number of years now.  Last year's COVID restrictions were incredibly tough for Victor's business, so we wanted families to know how amazing his programs are and how you can get involved during the term break, to explore Playball.  More information is available here:  https://playball.com.au/schools-program/
