Year 10 Spotlight Fabric Buying Excursion 

Wednesday March 23 the Year 10 Product Design students were taken by Mr. de Castro and Ms. Altas to Spotlight Highpoint. The purpose of the excursion was to buy fabrics for their garment production. Some students chose the shift dress, others chose the lined waistcoat and others chose the 50s style cocktail dress. There were plenty of beautiful fabrics to choose from and the students were able to purchase some bargains from the sale! Let’s just see what they can sew from these!

Year 7H4 National Gallery of Victoria Excursion

Meanwhile Thursday March 24 the year 7H4 Art students were taken by Mr. de Castro and Ms. Jones to the NGV International. The students were able to experience artworks in person for the first time in two years! They discussed, analysed some chosen paintings according to the Art elements and principles. They took turns recording their views on voice memos and later writing down their observations. One of the most exciting times of the day was the tram ride from the gallery to Melbourne Central. For some students, it was their first time on a tram!!!! 

Overall, students enjoyed the days out and the chance to experience learning out of the classroom!
