Teaching and Learning

Room 4

Mrs Bleby and Miss Georgia’s Reception/Year 1 class

Throughout the term we have been establishing our class rules. The children have come up with some excellent classroom values and have set focus goals. The children have worked so hard these past weeks and have displayed our class and school’s core values. Well done, room 4!

In maths we have been learning about and practicing writing our numbers. The children have done such an amazing job. This past week we have been practicing the number 5, check out our “5” poster below. The children are also learning their days of the week. It’s been challenging, but they have persevered and we are so proud of their hard work so far.

In history we have been focusing on old, new and toys that have stayed the same. The children displayed what they have learnt in a Venn diagram. Check out their amazing work below.

Nihongo News

こんにちは

Konnichiwa,

Did you know that the most favourite item in our Japanese room is our class mascot Pikachu?

The Reception students have settled into learning Japanese with great confidence and enthusiasm. Pikachu has been with them every step of the way!

We have been busy learning about Japan and what it means to speak in Japanese. They are mastering counting, learning how to greet each other, and bowing to begin and end our lessons. The students are also clever enough to be able to recognise the words

こんにちは and さようなら in Japanese characters.

A fantastic start to the year!

さようなら

Science News

Meet Mr And Mrs Mac’n’Cheese!

They are our furry friends who hang with us in Science lessons. The students thought hard about what to call them and we did a huge whole school vote on the names which then finally became decided late last week. Mr and Mrs Mac’n’Cheese are getting passed around from student to student, class to class to spend some quality time with their learning in Science. Each Science lesson, two lucky students get to be their carers and look after them for the lesson. They love them very much and are so happy when it gets to be their turn to be the carer!

They even enjoy working hard too!
