This week in Science:

This week in science we have been learning how to record our observations in our science journals.

Foundation, 1’s and 2’s focussed on finding and closely observing living things in nature. We considered the differences between living and non-living things to help us in our investigations. Student’s enjoyed using magnifying glasses to get a closer look of things living in the school yard. Observations were recorded in science journals using pictures and words.

3/4’s and 5/6’s were introduced to Nature Journaling as a specific way of recording scientific observations in nature. They were encouraged to take their observations, questions, connections and explanations of living things and document them using detailed pictures, words and numbers. They too, had fun using the magnifying glasses.

It was wonderful to see the different ways student’s recorded their observations.
