'Leaving Meaning' by Amelia Wilkinson

Congratulations to Amelia Wilkinson: Finalist for Top Screen 2022

Every year as part of the Season of Excellence ACMI hosts the finalists of Top Screen, the fourteen best Year 12 Media films in the state produced in the previous year. Congratulations to Amelia Wilkinson, a 2021 Year 12 NHS student whose wonderful documentary about her father Nathan, “Leaving Meaning” was selected as part of this honoured group.

“This personal documentary centres around my father, Nathan Wilkinson. It explores his day-to-day life, showing a holistic take, including his art, work and family.”

Amelia describes taking the attached photos at the premiere on March 10th as the most tedious and anxiety inducing experience, but we know she’s just being modest for what is a terrific achievement! For many of our media students it was a very large challenge to create their final productions during rolling lockdowns so to be selected as one of the top 2021 students in the state is an incredible feat. You can watch the film here

Vote for “Leaving Meaning” in the popular vote - let’s get the NHS community behind it!.

Congratulations Amelia and all those who helped you make something amazing.
