Help young people prepare for working life
Volunteers from the school community are required to conduct mock interviews with local students to help prepare them for their working life.
The 2022 Real Industry Job Interviews (RIJI) program is a work readiness program that helps students develop good job search, resume writing and interviewing skills. The program is delivered at Northcote High School in Year 10 through a series of guided lessons. It concludes in a face-to-face mock interview with a local volunteer interviewer during regional RIJI events.
This year over 1200 students are participating in the RIJI from schools across the inner Melbourne regions of Darebin, Moreland and Yarra.
Your role as a volunteer interviewer:
- Volunteers will be provided with the resume and job description for up to 11 students and some questions to help navigate the interview.
- Interview events run approx. from 9 am to 3 pm.
- You will provide verbal and written feedback on students’ interview performance.
