Swimming Carnival
We held our annual swimming carnival on March 4th: The weather was perfect for a day of competition in the pool and many students did their best for their House. The events included the individual 50m in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and the team 4 x 50m relays. New events included this year were the 25m individual race and the 4 x 25m noodle relays (students held onto/sat on a pool noodle to help keep them buoyant). The novelty events were fiercely contested, and face painting was a popular activity on offer. Students gained valuable House points if they competed in the swimming or novelty events, if they were a student official or by wearing their House colours proudly.
To finish the day, students were invited to compete against staff teams in a 4 x 50m relay. It was a close finish between Jessica Proudlock and Mr Livesay, however the staff have maintained their undefeated position in the history of Staff vs Students relays! Congratulations to the winning staff team of Ms Bronkhurst, Ms Cresp, Mr Hern and Mr Livesay.
The Carnival final results are:
1st Hale 426 points
2nd Flintoff 333 points
3rd Sayers 267 points
4th Kettner 188 points
Notable mentions go to the following students for their success in the pool:
Georgia Argaet Yr 7
Daegan Eddy Yr 8

Thanks to the many students and staff who participated to make the day a success!
