Primary School

Dear Primary families

We’ve had a busy start to Term 4. Our school showcased the Arts so wonderfully this term with the Primary Art Exhibition and Steiner Class 6 plays in the same week!

The Primary Art Exhibition was curated by our inspiring Main Program Arts teacher Angela D and the very talented Steiner Craft teacher Sue Rundle.

With the help of our International students and their teacher Felicia, the exhibition was set up in no time. I really thought that despite the terrible weather that day, the warmth and community feel of the Art show was resounding. I saw so many families and spoke with extended family members who have not been onsite since before COVID. It really was a fantastic gathering of our much loved community.

Here are some images of the event:

In the same week, the school also showcased two wonderful plays by Classes 6C and 6D. I was overwhelmed by the talent and maturity of the Class 6 students, some of whom worked with me as Class1’s in the literacy support program. To watch them act and speak so beautifully, completely without a script to me is indicative of how amazing our Steiner program is. The trajectory of learning is evident in these types of opportunities created for our students,  Malory and Nick should be congratulated on their efforts.

I look forward to next year's Arts festivities.

A reminder to all Year 6 families (both Main and Steiner) that our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony will take place on Monday December 12th at 2pm in the Stadium. This ceremony will be followed by a gathering in the stadium garden for all parents and students with light refreshments and pizza. The event will conclude at 3:45pm

More information will be posted on Compass in early December.

Thank you

Assistant Principal - Primary

Class 6 Steiner Plays

After 3 to 3 and a half weeks of hard work and solid commitment, both Steiner classes showcased their thespian skills!

Class 6D performed their play of Robin Hood on Friday, 21st October. They did a fantastic job of learning their lines, working together and bringing humour into the performance. A great success!

Kind regards

Malory Huther

Class 6D Teacher

On Wednesday, 26th October, 6C twice performed a comedic version of Cinderella, one for students in the morning, then again for parents at 4pm. Both performances were hilarious, polished and entertaining. It was amazing to witness the level of engagement by these fine young people, and hard to believe that they are all only 11 or 12 years old.

And... Cinderella said no to the prince, because she wanted to become an astrophysicist - an entirely appropriate 'take' on a very old fairy tale.

I am so very, very proud of all these wonderful students!

Class 6C Teacher

Primary Art Exhibition

The Primary School showcased an exhibition of all the wonderful art and craft created at this school. The exhibition opening was a full house event with lots of proud children and parents.

A special thanks to the year 5/6 Reggio students who without hesitation stepped in and served food.

Class 4 Steiner - Norse Mythology

Class 4 did blacksmithing to support their learning about Norse Mythology. It was tremendous fun. The students had to hammer hard to shape the hot metal.
