Principal's Message

Teresa Stone

As a learning community we partner to tell our learning journeys to gain wisdom and insight from all and we practice the skills to nurture each other socially, culturally and academically.

It’s a forgiving place were we can learn from our mistakes and connect and empower ourselves and each other to grow and achieve through tough times and through good.  We create the narrative of problem solving, promise/potential, resilience and persistence. We create the story map to be honest, successful, and respectful and take pride in our learning.

It makes me think of being connected and responsible as custodians of the environment and society to be healthy robust and democratic for our children and in turn as they take the reigns for our children's children.

We partner with families to share stories gain understanding and compassion for the road ahead and to ensure we are putting our kids at the centre of all we do. Together looking outwardly and inwardly to support our kids to grow and thrive.

As we build and rebuild a home school partnerships to support our children’s learning it can be worrisome for parents. Sometimes the maths isn’t the same as when we went to school, or the rules and consequences don’t match what we experienced as kids. Sometimes we hear about an incident and because we are not there to put it in perspective it can feel really enormous.  What we have always found is that if you chat with the teacher or one of the leadership team we can sort through problems together.

At home our kids need a listening ear, a quiet place to study or read and family activities that give them a wide range of experience to bring to their thinking and social interaction.

Planning for 2023

We are at that time of year when we begin to organise classes for 2023. To assist us with this task I would  request that any families who will NOT be returning to Roxburgh Homestead PS next year, to email or ring the office as soon as possible to let us know.

Also if you wish to let us know of any learning or social emotional considerations for your child, these must be put in writing and addressed to Teresa/ confidential.  We do not take requests for teachers.
