Pedal Prix 2022

Pedal Prix 2022 racing season came to an end last weekend with the pinnacle event - the 24 hour endurance race. Our two teams did amazingly well with lower numbers of riders than usual. Clipper had 9 riders and Lil Ripper had 8 and every rider put in everything they had to keep the two bikes going for 24 hours.

Final results were: Clipper (Junior bike) finished 101 out of 133 bikes with 375 laps, and Lil Ripper (Senior bike) finished 83 with 418 laps.  Well done riders!

A big thank you needs to go to all parents who came to support the teams. In particular Gwen Malaxos did an incredible job with overall organisation. Kevin Malaxos with support from Aaron Nitschke (old scholar) and Chris Bodel for the 24 Hr event,  was our head mechanic. Coordinating marshals is a significant role and Kellie Hitchenor was amazing at organising this team of parents. Thank you to all parents who acted as marshals and helped with food preparation and cooking both before and during the event.  As the Pedal Prix is a three event season, Gwen, Kevin and Kellie have been working hard all year to make each of these events happen and we have been so grateful for their commitment.

Thank you to our sponsors Kanga Coachlines, Kennards, Move Yourself trailers, Down to Earth Electrical, Fabulous Baker Boys and Chilly Billy. They have been very generous!

Geography Photo Competition

Congratulations to the following students who have won prizes in the Endeavour Geography Photo Competition, which was open to all Year 7, 8 and 9 students. The theme of the competition was livability.

1st prize – Madison Taylor (Year 8)

2nd to 5th prize (in no particular order)

  • Jazlyn Yii (Year 7)
  • Charlotte Dahlenburg (Year 8)
  • Xenia Salupalu  (Year 9)
  • Amelia Knott (Year 9)

All winners received a certificate, a monetary prize, and were entered into the South Australian Geography Photo Competition (organised by the Geography Teacher’s Association of South Australia).

Madison and Charlotte were successful in getting through to the final stage of judging for the state competition. Their photos will be displayed in a public exhibition at the State Library of South Australia in Adelaide from 17th October to 16th December 2022.

Many entries were received from across the state, so it is an outstanding achievement to have reached this stage. The girls will attend an Awards Ceremony on Saturday 29 October in the Institute Gallery of the Institute Building at the State Library, where they will receive their certificates and the final winner will be announced.

Congratulations girls!
