Care Group Connection Evening

Thursday October 20 from 3.45pm - 7.15pm

If your child is in Year 7, 9 or 10, they are expected to attend the Term 4 Care Group Connection Evening.

Care Group Connection Evening is a significant event in the College calendar. All students attend one of these evening per year, along with at least one parent or caregiver.

On the night, your child will lead a planned conversation with you and their Care Group teacher(s), which highlights their growing sense of agency.

For Year 7 and 9, students will lead the conversation about how their capabilities are growing, as well as how they are acting on their own goals, shaping their own journeys, and making responsible decisions and choices.

Throughout Term 3, Year 7 and 9 students prepare for this event and are supported by their Care Group teachers. Students use reflection and goal setting tools, designed to progress them through the three Vision for Learners principles – Independence (Year 7) and Collective Action (Year 9). These principles provide a common language that students and teachers can use to reflect on, and articulate the skills, qualities and dispositions that help our students desire to learn how to learn and interact with others.

With a focus on their future pathways, Year 10 students reflect on Vision for Learners principle – Independence and are guided by their PLP teachers and Mentors during Options Infinity. Their presentation and discussion are an assessed part of the Personal Learning Plan (PLP). Year 10 students need to achieve a minimum C grade for this compulsory SACE subject and this presentation forms part of the overall assessment.

Look out an email booking link in the near future.
