Primary Community News

Foundation (Prep-Year 2)

We have been learning all about different celebrations this term. This week we learned about Diwali and made lanterns, painted fireworks, and created henna art. Student's made connections to different things they celebrate, and how they were the same of different. We've also been preparing for Sports Day and Halloween by practicing some sports activities, creating playdough spiders. In reading they read short text about Diwali and Halloween, creating words and sentences from the text. Student's have been creating words related to these and are very excited for Sports Day and Halloween dress up.

Lower Primary (Years 3-4)

The 3/4 team have been learning about living and non-living things this term. We have explored what living and non-living things need to survive and discussed how all living things need the same things in order to live. To further explore living things and things they need to survive, we have planted vegetable and flower seeds. We have had lots of fun learning about living and non-living things.

Upper Primary (Years 5-6)

During week 3, Year 5/6 students went to Camp Manyung for 3 days and 2 nights. They participated in many activities including the giant swing, flying fox, beach experience and bike riding. Night activities included a disco and movie night. It was wonderful to see students building positive relationships as they encouraged each other to overcome fears and try new experiences. A big thank you to all the staff who came and supported the students during camp.
