AROUND THE SCHOOL

FIRST DAY OF PREP - 2023!

Excitement filled the air with bright smiles as the Preps began their first day of school on Tuesday. Prep students and families were overjoyed to explore their classroom in the new Primary building.

Cheerful voices surrounded both classrooms as students found their locker and table all labelled with their name! Hugs and kisses were given before we sat on the mat to begin our first lesson of the day! We read a story about starting school and got to learn the names of our new friends. We then toured the new Primary building and playground, and watched the diggers work on our new school oval.

After our break we sang the alphabet song and played a name game before we had a go at creating a dot painting. We made a ‘First Day of Prep’ crown and finally met our PE teacher, Mr Greenwood. Together we played a new game called ‘Buzzing Bees’!

What a great first day of Prep! We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year will show us.

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM

The senior leadership team of BHCS has a new name, Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This team was previously known as Learning Innovation Management (LIM). The ELT is comprised of ten senior leaders in the school:

Ivan Seskis (Deputy Principal)

Vicky Fraanje (Deputy Principal)

Annie McDowell (Head of Senior School)

Paul Lewry (Head of Middle School)

Cathleen Barker (Head of Primary)

Kirsty Meece (ELC Director)

Juliette Krens (Systems & Compliance Manager / PA to the Principal)

Liz Miko (Business Manager)

Daniel Turcato (Finance Manager)

and Peter Cliffe (Principal)

The ELT went off-site over the summer break to spend a day together at a special retreat. The day was spent participating in some team-building activities; planning and strategising for the year; and a time of individual prayer and reflection.

It was a fantastic day and a great launch for the year. The photo was taken after the team returned a little bit exhausted from a bush walk.
