from the principal

2022 has been a fast paced, high intensity, challenging, yet rewarding year for our community. I am thankful to so many within our community who have played a part in encouraging for success.
Much has been asked of our classroom based staff in 2022 who began the year 'virtually'. The respect and appreciation I have for teaching and non teaching staff in 2022 is enormous. I continue to applaud their professionalism, dedication, care, commitment and enthusiasm.
My thanks to you, the parents and the wider community of Good Shepherd Lutheran School for your contribution and service to various teams and working parties, the canteen, as classroom carers and volunteers, sports team managers and coaches. It is difficult to express the gratitude for which all staff and your fellow community members have for your work in and around our school. Take away the generous support of parents and our school would be a very different place.
I thank the School Board, under the leadership of Matt Schmidt and now Shawn Zeppel, for its support, trust, decision making and resolute focus on our Mission, Vision and Values.
To those families whose formal contact with us draws to a close this year, I thank you for your time with us and wish you every blessing in your new school, work and home environments.
On the back of a beautiful graduation service for our Year 6's, I celebrate that God has plans for their good. He has plans to prosper them and to give them a future and hope. Each and every one of these children has given us an exciting glimpse of the God-given potential they possess. We proudly release them to the next exciting chapter in their lives.
I thank God that He has placed me within the Good Shepherd community to passionately serve and to grow through new challenges and experiences.
Jesus is our hope today and for our future and we are reminded of that especially at Christmas. Hope resides not in anything we do or anything in this world, but it comes from God who loved us enough to send us a Saviour.
May Christ be at the centre of your family celebrations this Christmas.
David.
