Level 4 News

Welcome back to all year 4 for the last term of the year! We hope you all had a great holiday and rest with your family. Everyone had a great start to the term in week 1. Especially where we had the opportunity to attend the Bird Biodiversity lesson online with Parks Victoria. We learnt about the different types of birds and what environments they thrive in.  

We have begun our inquiry topic for this term of The First Fleet looking at how the settlers arrived in Australia and the impact it had on the Indigenous people. Year 4 are looking forward to the research and understandings we establish within this topic.  

For Maths in the first week the students did an amazing job completing work on Area and Perimeter. It was great to see how their maths stamina has increased throughout the year. 

In Writing we are learning to create strong persuasive  writing following the 

"Seven Steps and the Writing Process" such as Brainstorming, Choosing the Strongest Arguments, Sizzling Starts and Tightening Tension, this will help us develop our persuasive speeches in the next few weeks.
