Welcome back to Term 4! We hope you had a restful school holiday break.

We had a fun-filled last week of Term 3, including constructing mini-kites together on WebEx as well as making extremely delicious chocolate balls. This creativity extended into our Inquiry topic of minibeasts: snails, with students cooking their own Aussie snails, and making rocking paper snails.

This first week of Term 4, it has been wonderful reconnecting with students in our online morning classes. Our literacy small-groups have recommenced this term. Students have had lots to tell us about their holidays and have produced some excellent recounts for Writing.

In Maths, we have been practising place value via a variety of activities including ‘place value with food’ – it always seems to come back to food in Level 1! Our Inquiry topic for the start of this term is History: My Family. Students have been exploring how they have changed from the past to the present, and imagining the things they might do in the future. Students made family trees, and – tying in with Writing – wrote about some special family memories.
