Principal's Message
Mr Forrest
Welcome back to Term Four everyone, along with a huge thanks for doing what you have been doing to stay safe and keeping everyone else safe. We look forward to having all students back on-site in two weeks time, having some sense of normality return to our College.
I understand the chopping and changing has caused grief, anxiety and frustration, however I hope you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am still waiting for confirmation towards the rules, regulations and exemptions around face masks for students but I will forward the information onto you as soon as possible.
Obviously as the year disappears, so will the opportunity to hold extra events for students to enjoy. I am hopeful at some stage we will be able to participate in School Camps for Years 7/8, Grades 3/4 and the P-2 BBQ, Disco and Sleepover.
Our scheduled Curriculum day on 1 November has been cancelled as it is not fair to have students return then have an extra long weekend. However, 2 November is the Melbourne Cup Public holiday and will be for everybody.
When the School Operations Guides permits school excursions and activities to go ahead, we will go into full planning mode so we can have a mixture of academics and fun to finish off the year.
The final formal day for Year 12 students will be this Friday. We have a number of special activities planned for them to enjoy. It's hard to believe the year has flown by so fast and they now only have their exams to finish. They have all been a great group of students to work with and I wish them all the very best with exams, hoping they have a great Christmas break before they commence further study or employment.
On Friday it will be Annette Heeman's final day at Wedderburn College. We wish her and her family the very best in the future. Annette has been working at Wedderburn College for the past five years and we have appreciated her gentle, kind approach with the staff and students.
We are currently working through planning for 2022 with the finalisation of Staffing, VCE/VCAL Subjects and Timetabling, we will keep you up to date with our changes over the next few weeks.
