The Media CCP has looked a little different in 2021!

Usually, one of our main projects is devising and writing a screenplay for a whole-school film production that is filmed in Term 3 and premieres in November. Instead, this year we worked in groups on smaller, achievable creative projects, including short horror films.

When the “great” lockdown of Term 3 occurred, we turned our weekly lunchtime non-compulsory catchups into ‘What have you been watching’ gasbags. We even filmed a session as a review panel show.

I was so impressed with the level of detail and professionalism displayed by all our panellists!  Shant even made up a jingle and Asha created a zoom background! It was such a great mid-week joy-fest.

Thank you, Media CCP, for helping us all stay connected during a really challenging time.

Even though we couldn’t see each other in class, I still had so much fun in Media Club this year. We chatted about our favourite movies, and I found some new favourites!

It was so great making movies and filming our LockyD TV episode.

In lockdown, Media Club CCP members talked about several films and TV shows we had watched. It was quite enjoyable,  socialising with others from other [year levels] and classes.

Media CCP TV started off with the brainstorming of ideas which was mainly talking about previous or upcoming films the group had seen.

I reviewed Cobra Kai, which is coming out in December 2021.

Then came filming!!! After 2 weeks of script revision, we recorded our Teams call where everyone talked about their topics, with the main intention of getting people to watch the movie or TV show. It was a fun experience in lockdown - still getting to film something creative. I have done many panel talk shows before but nothing like this!

Earlier this year in Media CCP, we were tasked with making a one-minute film in small groups of around two to four people.

My group filmed a horror themed music video at school (over a few lunchtimes) which was rather enjoyable.

We had fun learning how to edit on Adobe Premier Pro.
