Foundation Food Fun

In Foundation the students were very enthusiastic when preparing their Fruity Cones. Students showed amazing skills in the cutting up and mixing of their fruit before placing the fruit in the cone with some yoghurt. I am sure that many of the students will be creating this one again at home. We have also set up an experiment to understand the importance of handwashing before we eat, and before preparing food. We will let  you know the results.

Food Electives

The Technology Food electives Café Culture and Fermentation have been producing wonderful products during the first few weeks of Term 1.

Students in Café Culture designed their own sweet or savoury muffin that would be suitable to sell at a café. This week students prepared a popular food item, Meat Pies, which were well received by all who tasted them.

The Fermentation students have been looking at yeast and the role that it plays in the making of bread. Each student designed and produced their own loaf of bread which was devoured with butter of course!
