Foundation - Yellow Room
Some pictures of the Foundation students on their first official day of school.
The Foundation students have settled in very well and are enjoying having Ms Thornton teach them on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday, and Mrs Hausler on Fridays. The Foundations get to enjoy a well earnt mid week break with a rest day on Wednesdays.
Favourite Books
A good story and bringing things from home for Show & Tell are both very popular with younger students. To kick start the year, Foundation students were asked to bring their favourite books in to share with their classmates.
Year 1/2 Class - Red Room
Grade 1/2 had a great first week at school, planting seeds in Science, learning about tallying and graphing in Maths, and earning bucket fillers for positive behaviour in class. Our class novel is Enid Blyton's 'The Magic Faraway Tree' and we are loving hearing about the adventures of Moonface, Silky and the children as they go up the Faraway Tree into different magical lands!
Mrs Close's Monsters
This picture is too good not to share! On the Whole School Transition day back in December, the 1/2 class really embraced the spirit of their Monster theme and made some amazing monster creations!
3/4 Class Economy System!
In 3 / 4 this year, we are running a classroom economy. This means that students have classroom jobs which they get paid for with, what we call, Yellow Dollars. The aim of this is to teach the students valuable life skills and for them to have fun in the process. The students apply for jobs every 2 weeks and then, at the end of each fortnight, get the chance to spend their hard earned money in our class economy shop. The 3/4 students love telling people about how we run our room so if you see them, ask them about it.

Year 5/6 Blue Room
The first 3 weeks of 5/6 in the Blue Room have been energetic, exciting and engaging.
We have been writing Sizzling Sentences with more detailed and varied adjectives using Pobble 365 and Sentence Starter Generators and the Spelling City program is helping with the spelling and definition of our words.
In Maths we have begun the Mathletics online program which engages and guides our way through Numeracy.
In Science we have begun to look at different forms of energy and in History we are looking back at the amazing time of the Gold Rush era.
In Steam we have created chairs out of pop sticks that can hold a white board marker and explored how different designs of paper planes fly longer, shorter, faster or slower.
