FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS

Connect Groups
It was so wonderful to launch our Connect Groups last Wednesday afternoon, and I have been so pleased to hear students and teachers speaking so positively about them. It was fantastic to have some parents and grandparents joining our groups, and contributing to discussions and activities. The aim of these groups is to build social connection, to strengthen our relationships and learn about the different things we can all do to live a flourishing and happy life. In the coming weeks, we will continue to talk about what gratitude is, what being grateful looks, sounds and feels like, and the ways we can show our gratitude for the people, places and things we have in our lives.
We would love to have as many members of the school community as possible joining in with these groups, and the next one is scheduled for Wednesday 29th at 2:30pm. You are welcome to join in with any group. Please remember to sign in on the parent sign in sheet in each classroom, and look for the parent resources that will be sent home via Compass the week before.
If you are wanting to start a conversation at home around gratitude and things we can be grateful for, this short video may give you some starting points. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yA5Qpt1JRE4
NAPLAN
The Grade 3s and 5s have done an amazing job preparing for, and sitting the first few NAPLAN tests this week. Although there were a few technical hitches, for the most part, things have been relatively smooth for students sitting the tests online. The test window continues until the end of next week.
