Loud and uplifting the Ablaze bust our ears but touched our hearts. As if for once the crowd was one listening heart a beating drum hanging on every word joined in the light of Christ. I don’t think anyone walked away that wasn’t inspired, the stories the songs everything, so there are no words to describe.

What have you done in your indigenous art?
For our first one, we did a story then we got into groups and drew indigenous symbols & Australian animals.
Are you enjoying the art lessons?
Yes, I liked them because we learnt all the Yorta Yorta words.
What have you made?
We made a clay turtle and we put aboriginal symbols on it

We learnt how the elders made their art.

We made clay turtles, we made a drawing and did an act with them. We made a clay turtle and a guy came to do it with us, he showed us some aboriginal art

Yes because we got to play with the clay.

Clay turtles and drawings. We had to write some Yorta Yorta words on our drawings.

How to carve a lot of things like a turtle I also learnt the word Guka it means ran.

Yes, I like the lessons because we can make stuff and there are lots of different things we can use.

What have you done in your indigenous art?
We made clay turtles and on the first week, we got to do a performance. We got to draw something after that. We got the choice of a monster (because we learnt about bunyips) and some other options.
Are you enjoying the art lessons?
Yes, I particularly liked the second one we made a clay turtle.

I have made the picture of a monster and a clay turtle with symbols on it.
What have you Learnt?
I learnt how to make a clay turtle a different way to the way Mrs Wilson does it with us and did it the way the Indigenous people did it.

Prep – 100 days of school
The preps recently celebrated their 100th day of school. Last Tuesday all the preps came to school dressed up as grandmas and grandpas! They did so many fun things like making jelly cookies, bracelets and necklaces. They had a blast. Let’s see what some of our preps had to say about the day:

Tyler & Ryder: Made Jelly!!!
Sophie: We made 100 cookies with lollies and the number 100 on top
Ava: We had fruit loops as the 100 and lollies as the ones
Sophie: We made necklaces and bracelets
Will: We made 100 glasses to wear
What was your favourite activity?
Ava: Eating our cookies and dressing up
Sophie: EATING OUR COOKIES! Because they had chocolate icing.
What did you dress up as?
Tyler & Ryder: OLD PEOPLE!!!! Grandpas.
Will: I dressed up as the old man in ‘Up’ the movie
