Principal's Announcements

Mary MacKillop

Tomorrow we celebrate the feast day of Australia's first saint Mary MacKillop.  Her motto was "Never see a need without doing something about it" and during her life she initiated the Sister's of St Joseph who went on to open hundreds of schools and hospitals across Australia and the world.  The students have been learning about Mary MacKillop's remarkable legacy this week.

New - Family Advice Portal!

This week we launch our new Family Advice Portal as an ongoing section of this newsletter.  It has a wide range of topics that may assist families with common issues that effect children at home and at school.   Please make yourself familiar with this great resource.

Building Works

As many of you would be aware, building works have begun at the front of the school.  Over the next week our Administration area will move to the spare classroom in the 1/2 area.  We have put up some signs to assist with finding Naomi and Amber!

Student Goal Setting Meetings

Thank you to all parents who attended the student goal setting meeting.  Parent engagement in student learning is a crucial role in your child's development and your ongoing support ensures we are working together to give your child the best chance at school.

Grandparent's Day

Our Grandparent's Day was once again a wonderful success with many in attendance.  The grandparents had a great time visiting classrooms and spending time with their grandchildren.  Well done to the children for performing so well - the grandparents thought it was great.  Thank you to everyone who attended!

100 Days for Preps!

Congratulations to our Preps who this week celebrated their 100th day at school!  To mark the occasion they got dressed up as 100 year olds and had a great day celebrating!  Mrs Cox & Mrs Mulraney also got dressed up as a couple of cool grannies!

New Bishop of Sandhurst

It was announced recently that Shane MacKinlay is the new Bishop of the Sandhurst Diocese.  We are all very excited by this news and look forward to welcoming Bishop Shane when Bishop Les officially finishes in September. There are two attachments with this newsletter regarding this.

St Mary's T Ball

Good luck to our T Ball team who is taking part in the regional finals on Friday in Benalla.  They have been training very hard with Mr Preston and Nicole and are looking very sharp!

2020 Preps

We have begun Interviews for next year's Preps.  If you have a child starting at St Mary's next year, please contact the office to arrange an appointment.

Parent Access Module Update

We are beginning a transition from Care Monkey to PAM for student medical information and permission notes.  Parents can now begin to complete a medical profile in PAM after clicking the "red bell" in the top right hand corner of the home page. Care Monkey will still be used in conjunction with PAM, until the transition period concludes in a few months.  We apologise for the inconvenience, however after  discussing the details with the School Board, we have decided this will be a better alternative moving forward.

Pupil Free Day

Just a reminder that Friday 23rd August is a pupil free day.  The staff are taking part in technology Professional Development with the Catholic Education Office.
