Broken Hill Library 

The Broken Hill City Library have free online services and services available to our community. Our doors are closed but we are working hard behind the scenes to provide a service to our community. 

Broken Hill City Library has a number of online resources and activities for children. These include games, picture books, audio eBooks, puzzles and information resources, which can be accessed by members online at home and support children in literacy skills.

Your library membership provides you access to a wide range of Australian and international authors in eBook and eAudio format. 

Britannica

Encyclopedia Britannica is a trusted information resource, 3 levels of information for children, teens and adults. 

Busy things

Busy things is a program for children to play and learn, featuring fun educational activities for ages 3 and up, from learning the alphabet to problem solving. 

Busy code

Busy code introduces children to the fundamentals of coding.

Fun tutorials, challenges and projects will guide them in creating, running, and debugging simple programs.

Literacy planet

Literacy planet is fun, competitive and appeals to children using video game themes and dynamics making learning fun!

It offers curriculum aligned content for parents seeking digital literacy activities for their children, offers thousands of interactive activities and is suitable for all abilities and all types of learners.

Ancestry

Ancestry is usually only able to be accessed in the library, however for this period we can extend the use of Ancestry to trace your family history at home.

EBSCO database

A Online resource that provides authoritative and educational information such as Consumer Health, Reference centres, Hobbies and Craft reference centre and more.

 

Our staff are available in the library between 9:00 to 5:00 to answer any questions.

Burke Ward Aboriginal Parent Group 

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions in place by the NSW Government our parent group on Friday afternoons with Cindy have been suspended. We look forward to re-commencing these once safe and having all our families joining us.
