Welcome to the end of Semester 1 and start of Semester 2

Reports

Semester reports will be published at the end this term. However, because of COVID and flu related absences of students and teachers, a number of classes/students will not have the reports finished at this time. Teachers will have until the end of the first week of Term 3 to complete these reports. When this is done, parents will be notified by the teachers.

Extra support and brain food!

The last two years of COVID, lockdowns and remote learning has meant that many students are struggling with the more rigid requirements of VCE and VCAL subjects. On Mondays and Thursdays after school, students can get extra support from teachers and tutors to help them deal with areas of their subjects they are finding difficult. So, in the library after 3:00 pm with pizza on Monday, and chips on Thursday, both of which I am reliably informed are very effective brain foods.

Mobile Phones at School

Students and staff have been commenting on the increasing numbers of students using their phones at school. In line with Department of Education policy, if students bring their phone to school, it should be in their bag or locker from 8:20 am until the end of school at 2:50 pm. The one exception is if students need to use it to make payments during recess or lunch. Once the payment is made the phone must be returned to their bag or locker. The other option is to get a debit card to make payments. It works the same as a phone and is way lighter.

Congratulations Bridie Byrne

A bit of a late notice but congratulations to Bridie Byrne who was given the Latrobe City Young Citizen of the Year Award for 2022. Bridie plays an active role in the local scouting movement. Well done Bridie!
