Around the Traps - 2/3C

Josh Carr

Welcome back! We have got off to a flyer in 2/3C, it was a great first week back and we are carrying that form into Week 2.

This Thursday we start our swimming lessons, if anyone is available to help walk down with us to the pool please contact me any help would be greatly appreciated.

The class has been doing great work in all areas, here is a little rundown of the week’s work.

Maths

This week the Maths focus is Place Value, we are building our knowledge of numbers up to 1000 and over 1000. Students are gaining confidence in working with bigger and bigger numbers.

Literacy

In writing lessons, we have been working on writing lists to help us generate ideas and we are also looking at learning more about Non- Fiction Texts and Non-Fiction Writing.  Using the Winter Olympics as a starting point students have looked at Infographics, why are they useful and what are the key features. Students will then create their own Infographic about something they know.

In reading we have been getting back into our routines of independent reading, partner reading and then reading at home and filling in our reading logs.

RE (Religious Education)

This week we are celebrating the wonder and beauty of St. Bridig and her story.
