Principal's Report

Welcome to all of our new families to the Langwarrin PS community.  I look forward to getting to know you over your time here and hope your beginnings with us have been overly positive!  I hope everyone got some well-earned family time and enjoyed the warm weather either at home or far away.

I must admit I watched way too much cricket over the break including the amazing finish to the women’s Ashes test over the weekend and whilst I’m not a huge tennis fan, watching a champion like Ash Barty is something I think we all enjoy!

Some Housekeeping for the start of the year

School gates:

Morning: Open at 8.20.  (You may come onto school grounds if you are walking your child to Team Kids)

Afternoon: Open at 3.20(You may come to the office if needed)

BuildingsOnly staff and students should be entering buildings.  The office is the only exception.

Car ParkPlease don’t use the car park to walk to your child’s grade.  We have staff that finish at 3.30 and cars and people generally don’t mix in a safe way.

COVID

Masks: Unless your Year 3-6 child has an exemption, they must wear a mask indoors. This assists with lessening the spread of COVID should it enter the classroom.  This also means less chance of your child staying home for 7 days!

RATs:  Thank you to all those kids who are having their RATs twice per week.  They are not the most pleasant of things to have however it will help minimise any spread at our school.

Showing Symptoms:  Even if your child tests negative, please keep your child home until symptoms subside.

Uniform

I have been very impressed with the way in which our uniform is looking over the first few days I have been out in the yard and walking through classrooms. Remember though, Santa Cruz socks and the like are not part of our uniform.  Red, white or black shoes are the only colours students should be wearing. And don’t forget hats!  Let’s keep it up so we look the best!

The newsletter is now fortnightly.
