5/6 C

Mr Cameron and Miss Judy

Welcome to 2022

Miss Judy and I are excited for the year ahead and keen for an uninterrupted classroom, as I'm sure so too are the students and families. The students have settled into a routine already and begun to show the qualities of leadership expected of senior students. We look forward to catching up with families over the coming weeks and especially at our 'Meet the Teacher' sessions in a few weeks time. In the coming days, I will set up the Grade 5 students with their new BYO iPads in anticipation of improving the independence of students both in utilising the technology and in leveraging their learning to produce digital content.

Prep Buddies

Grade 6 students have been introduced to their Prep buddies and shared lunch together in the Red Centre on Tuesday. It was an opportunity to get to know them and we look forward to many more activities as the year progresses.

Maths

This week the students have been challenged to choose a 'prize' with the value of either a: 1 lineal metre of $2 coins laid flat. b: 1 square metre of 5 cent coins laid flat. c: a 1-litre carton filled with 20 cent pieces, or d: 1 kilogram of $1 coins.

So far they've identified that the lineal metre of $2 is valued at $96.00, whereas the square metre of 5 cent pieces is worth $130.05.

It will be interesting to see what the other prizes are worth and who chose the wisest!
