First Eucharist 

The children of Year Six have been receiving their First Eucharist at masses over the holidays and will continue to throughout the year. Covid put a stop to the celebrations in 2021. Please keep these children in your prayers during this time. Thank you to the senior teachers of 2021, Father Michael and parents for helping prepare our children. Sacrament of Confirmation – Class of 2021  

Dear Parents and Students of Grade 6 Class 2021,  

I trust that you are now settling into your new Secondary School environment and beginning to enjoy all the extra  options that are now available to you beyond the Primary School experience.  

 

In early January I sent a letter to the Archbishop seeking delegation to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation  with students from Year 6, 2021. With the support of our Regional Bishop Terry Curtin, approval has now been  granted – and so I am delighted to offer Families and Students the opportunity to celebrate this special Sacrament  at our local churches.  

 

Beginning over the Easter Weekend in small groups, and concluding at Pentecost, students who wish to be  confirmed at the 3 parish weekend Masses may do so, and be supported by their families, sponsors and friends.  This is a wonderful opportunity now available to us that was possible last year for the first time, and was  enthusiastically supported by 95% of the local families who took this opportunity.  

Naturally, there are some restrictions during these Confirmations but we will try to help you navigate them with  ease and support.  

 

• 12 Confirmation Candidates per Mass over the Easter Weekend only (16th & 17th April)  (https://www.trybooking.com/BXJRK)  

 

• 6 Confirmation Candidates per Mass from 24th April till Pentecost Sunday, 5th June  (https://www.trybooking.com/BXJRN)  

 

• No limits on Family members in attendance  

• A choice of three Masses each weekend:  

  • SFX Saturday Night, 6pm  
  • SFX Sunday Morning, 8:30am  
  • OLHC Sunday Morning, 10am  

That is 25 Masses to consider with your family & friends during the months of April, May & June.  Booking for Confirmation Child ONLY available through TryBooking (links above).  

I hope that each student and their family from St Francis Xavier, Holy Trinity & Our Lady Help of Christians  take up this opportunity to Celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with us.
