The importance of regular reading

As a parent or guardian, you are in partnership with the school to provide a positive learning environment for your child/ren. At every Year 7 Parent Information Evening, the importance of this partnership is reiterated.

At Kildare, your child will not have any assignments to complete in Years 7 and 8. The research is clear that this has no positive outcomes for younger students and that challenging work is best completed in the classroom with the support of an expert teacher.

However, your child DOES need to complete some learning at home and that includes 20 minutes of reading.

Parents, we need your SUPPORT with this.

Is your child reading every day?

This simple yet effective homework can make all the difference to improve your child’s learning and set them up for success.

The impact of reading 20 mins each day
