Performing Arts Matters
Thanks to all who attended the PAPA (Performing Arts Parents Association) AGM on Monday night. Approximately 20 people attended the online meeting, with a good representation of new parents. There was great discussion regarding this year and our return to performing. We still have 4 positions to fill on the committee, Vice President, Secretary, Food Convenor and Drinks Convenor. If you can lend a hand in whatever way we would welcome your input. In particular, we are looking for parents to attend the P & F cocktail night and being available to make connections with families new and old. Please let Michelle Godfrey, President of PAPA, or myself know of your availability. Thanks to Michelle and her team on their work with PAPA.
Ensembles are back!
I’ve included some photos of our first rehearsals in this article to see how the students are embracing their ensembles. It’s a sight to warm my heart.
Exam Success
Another piece of news that pleased me was the report that one of our students had achieved very highly in their trumpet exam at the end of 2021. Oliver Butler, Year 8, was awarded a high distinction in his 4th grade AMEB trumpet exam. Well done to Oliver and his teacher, old boy, Ben Blunt for their efforts. I welcome more reports like this.

Music Tuition Housekeeping
A reminder to parents: if your son will be absent from school on the day of their music lesson, please contact their tutor directly to inform them (by 8.00 am). This way the tutor knows of the absence in good time, can arrange a make up lesson at a later date (if possible) and the lesson is not forfeited.
