Positive Steps to Improve Wellbeing

St Pius X College is committed to providing a safe, inclusive school environment for all of its students. Underpinning this commitment is our emphasis on 'Respectful Relationships' and the expectation that every individual shows and gives respect to each other in an effort to maximise a positive school culture and each individual's sense of well being.  The final outcomes of this are an enhanced individual learning environment and better relationships and friendships.

Below is a list of very useful and extremely helpful positive steps to wellbeing.

  • Be Kind to Yourself
  • Exercise Regularly
  • Take up a new hobby or learn a new skill
  • Have some fun and/or be creative
  • Help others
  • Relax
  • Eat healthily
  • Have a good sleep routine
  • Connect with others
  • Beware of drink and drugs
  • See the bigger picture
  • Accepting 'It is what it is'

Taking some time to review each item on this list can help both you and your son work towards positive wellbeing.  It can also be the start of a list of goals to focus on.

The document with further information is attached.

If you need any assistance, guidance or support in working with these steps please contact the school counselling team.

Keep well and stay connected!

Mr Rick Russo, School Counsellor

Boxercise is Back! (Years 5 - 12)

Join the growing numbers of boys who are flourishing at school after attending an early morning (7.30 am) fitness session, which focuses on boxing techniques, fitness and fun (of course!).

There are two sessions a week, every Thursday and Friday, which are led by our senior Year 11 and 12 Boxercise legends who guide the boys through a variety of boxing activities which enhance strength, fitness and resilience.

There is no cost for this activity, other than a time commitment of 45 minutes on Thursday and Friday mornings.  Boys simply need to wear their sports uniform (remember to bring full uniform, if required, to change into) and turn up in the Junior School Playground for a 7.30 am start.

Join up and reap the benefits of improved mental health and wellbeing.

See you on Thursday.
