At Essendon North Primary School, communication between home and school is paramount to ensure all members of the school community are informed and up to date with all aspects and components of school life.
Communication is a shared responsibility and promotes a connection to the school and a sense of belonging to the community.
For further information, please refer to the relevant policies located at https://www.enps.vic.edu.au/policies-page.
As defined in our policies, community communication refers to communication between home and school regarding general school and year level information. It does not refer to the communication of individual student learning and growth, nor communication of student management.
Ongoing communication between school and home is vital. At ENPS there are a number of processes that the school has in place to ensure effective communication at all levels. These include:
- Compass;
- School Website;
- ENPS Newsletter;
- Unit of Inquiry and Learning Overviews;
- Email;
- Formal and informal opportunities to meet with teachers;
- Student Learning Conferences;
- School Assemblies; and
- Digital platforms like Seesaw App.
If you have a concern regarding your child:
- Contact your child’s teacher and arrange an appointment.
- If you have approached the class teacher concerning an issue and you still feel it hasn’t been resolved, please contact the Principal / Assistant Principal.
- General school issues should be directed to the Principal / Assistant Principal.
It is important that you communicate your concerns. Often the issues raised can be addressed quickly. We cannot address concerns or issues unless we know what they are. Please be aware that teachers are very busy in the mornings before school preparing for the day, so it is best to make a mutually appropriate time to discuss any issues or concerns.

Whole School Assembly
A full school assembly is currently held each Friday afternoon at 2:40pm in the gym and all parents are invited to attend. Important notices, student achievements, class, sport and music items are often featured. Parents are requested to supervise any toddlers to ensure they are not running around or making excessive noise during assemblies. Loud noises, talking and children running around can be very distracting during the assembly and parent assistance with this is appreciated.
