Performing Arts Update

'Mindfulness at St Anthony’s is built into every day. It may take the form of mindful prayer, mindful meditation, mindful listening, mindful colouring, mindful movement or mindful brain breaks. Children learn to self regulate, to calm, to practise gratitude and to get ready to learn through mindful moments within their day. All learning spaces have mindful corners or mindful spaces for all to access when needed.'

Moana Update

Dear St Anthony’s Families,

There has been much excitement around the school with our upcoming production of Moana!

The 5/6's are cast, the other children are getting ready to sing and dance in their ensemble groups and the excitement is mounting.

T shirts will be available to purchase and I encourage everyone to buy one to support the production and to celebrate their role in another St Anthony's Spectacular! All children will be able to wear their t shirts to school (with the rest of their uniform) every Thursday throughout Term 3 when they will enjoy their crafternoons of making and decorating for Moana.

Please make sure that all costumes are at school by Friday 16th July in a plastic bag with your child's name and class on it.

BIG NEWS

This year due to Covid 19, we have decided to turn our live show into a movie. Many schools have taken this approach and we feel that it is the safest way to move forward with ensuring that the students have a wonderful and complete experience. Rest assured that the show will be wonderful and the children will have a very rewarding and creative time making a film instead.

The exciting news is that we will be having a very special Moonlight Cinema picnic on the oval on Thursday 16th September at sunset. There will be a sausage sizzle, popcorn and other refreshments and the children will perform live songs on the night to entertain and thrill the audience! SAVE THE DATE! Details to come!

Parent helpers

Please let your class teachers know if you have any special skills you can share with us for Moana, things like Samoan/Pacific Islander singing and dancing, sewing, building etc, we love our families involved in a safe and fun way!

Enjoy your holidays and see you all in Term 3.
