I am very proud of all of our athletes as they tried their best to sprint, jog or walk our course!  Not only is the House Cross Country a necessary step towards qualifying for the District Cross Country, it is also a time to mix with your friends while joining together in a community event.  I hope many students are proud of their efforts wherever they came over the finish line.

A huge thank you to the extensive list of parent and grandparent volunteers that made this event possible – Amy Blythman, Angela Butlin & her daughter, Frank Connellan, Wenjun Ding, Simon Garvey, Dee & Marc Gillot,  Catherine Gordon, Priscilla Hetherton, Jodie Kaa, Sarah Lehocz, Claire Malone, Raha Regat, Chantelle Schultz & youngest daughter, Amarjit Sing, Beck Smith, Mahshid Sobhan, Leslie Tayao,  Marilyn Tsirigotis, Steven Wade, Kelly Wang, Shana Williamson, Ivan Wong...and other parents who were able to assist at the last moment. What a tremendous team you made with the Mullum staff and student helpers - Ayden, Reinette, Lachie, Mattisse  and Matthew!

And thank you also to the Mullum staff and House Captains - Neil, Ethan, Liam, Jack, Ginger and Leia!

Downball Incursion

Nathan McKenzie and Andrew Phillip visited Mullum on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th May this week. They are from Downball Australia and involved our students in mini class tournaments during their PE classes. Each class had overall champions who were awarded free Downballs.  The top eight participants from each class earned a free pass to enter the Downball Australia Tournament on the first weekend of the next school holidays (June 27).  This is open for all students to enter and should be a lot of fun.  For more information visit - https://downballaustralia.com.au/tournaments

I would like to say a big thank you to Andrew and Nathan for the time they spent at Mullum.

District Cross Country - have you noted the date change?

Our District Cross Country will be run on Tuesday 25th May at Quambee Reserve, North Ringwood, 12.30pm to 2.30pm.  We have had a date and venue change this year due to unforeseen circumstances.  Students are transported and supervised by Mullum staff at this event…we do need one parent to be a course marshal.  A note will be sent home via Compass to all successful runners asap.

Weekly Sports Star – Lucas - Grade 4

I started badminton when I was five.  My coach is Lenny Permana. I have competed in 9 tournaments and am in under 11s.  I train two times a week, 2 hours per session.  Badminton is a very fast sport.  I’m part of the Badminton Infinity Club.  To play badminton you need a racquet and a shuttle.  A shuttle is a ball made of feathers.
