A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Next week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week; a time to celebrate our many achievements as a school and a time to reflect on our mission to be the face of Christ in our world today. We strive to provide the best possible education for all our students including building strong foundations for faith formation. We encourage our students to reach out and help others; just as Jesus helped the poor, sick and downtrodden.  Students also learn about God’s great love for us and the importance of prayer. This week I ask you to find some time to discuss with your children what they enjoy most about school.

Our daily timetable for next week includes:

Monday: Our School Captains, Mrs Rheinberger and I will attend Mass in St Mary & St Joseph’s Cathedral in Armidale; along with representatives from all the schools in our diocese.

Tuesday: We welcome parents to join the staff for a twilight retreat at 3.30pm in St Brigid’s church, led by Anne Finlayson. If you need a quiet few minutes to yourself this is the ideal activity.

Wednesday afternoon: Senior students will lead the school in fun tabloid sport activities.

Thursday: We invite our families and friends to a liturgy at 11.30am in the library, followed by classroom visits from 12.00-1.15pm. We encourage family members to stay and have a picnic lunch with the students. Please bring your own food, blanket & chairs.

Friday: The whole school will attend mass at St Brigid's church at 9.30am. We have invited parishioners to have a tour of the school and morning tea after this mass. I am sure our special visitors will be impressed by the facilities we have on offer.

We hope our parents and carers will be able to join us some time during this important week.

Our wonderful PT & F is once again inviting members of our school community to ‘buy a paver’ to be placed along the pathway entrance of our school. I encourage you to support this venture and have your name go down in history!

Have a wonderful week
