Ride to School Day

Earlier in the year, we were unable to take part in National Ride to School Day as this fell on a student-free curriculum day.

We were determined not to miss out on the fun and so rearranged this special day for last Tuesday 18th May.

The day was led by our wonderful sustainability leader Allison Shanahan, ably supported by our Kitchen Garden co-ordinator Betty and the Green Team.

During the day we were blown away by almost every child coming to school on their bike or scooter and getting involved with the fun taking place.

Before school we had fresh fruit and 'Ride to School day' stickers to give away in the quadrangle. Once the day began, each class had the opportunity to negotiate the special bike/scooter course through our school grounds and into the park. they then finished up with fresh fruit smoothies created on our very own smoothie bike. This great piece of equipment was awarded to us a few years ago by the City of Port Phillip

We would like to thank all of the students and families who got active and rode to school on Ride to School day. Thanks also to Allison for her hard work in making this such a fun, healthy day!
