Chaplain's Corner
Hello again MPS Community
How are you? I am really asking. Hit the pause button and take a moment to reflect on the question. You do know we are in June 2021 already? How amazing it is to live in such a wonderful city in the best state in the world. Our days may be tough at times or filled with hard circumstances but in the middle of a Worldwide pandemic our community has actually spent a lot of the time thriving as a group. That is due to the hard working nature of all of you. Sure we hit bumps and potholes along the way but know that you are seen.
This is where as School Chaplain I have the immense privilege of having a bird's eye view of our school from many different angles. Everyone is working so hard in their roles and although some days might be tough or a lot of readjusting and going with the flow is required, we are doing it! I want to take time in this newsletter to say don't be too hard on yourselves or each other. Sometimes all the pieces of a puzzle don't seem to be fitting together but when we step back the picture is amazing and full of inspiring people. Take the long weekend to reflect, rest and reset. Each day is new and we try again.
What are you up to at the moment Ms Bija?
Thanks so much for asking as it has been a busy term already. Here are some highlights and things to come ahead:
- Lego Masters 3 week challenge earlier in the term was amazing fun
- In progress is a personal art project with some wonderful students with "I am" statements about who they are. Thanks for your patience girls as we find time!
- Swimming support and Inter School Sports. I get to attend and support school activities and it is actually one of the times I most enjoy. As I see most of our staff and students and get to offer my help where is required.
- I have been trying to get around the needs of staff and students when the weekly timetable is large. Swimming brings lots of changes and adapting. It sometimes requires particular behaviour support which is different to what I provide in one on one meetings, again I feel privileged to do my role. To all staff: you are really going above and beyond.
Coming Up:
- Two assembly opportunities for a free coffee and chat with the Chaplain
- Chaplain attendance and question time at the next P&C Meeting in week 10 on Monday 21 June. Please watch Class Dojo for more information on this and all are welcome to attend. Please post your questions or anything you would like to know on Class Dojo direct message to me or through the Office. I would love to prepare relevant information and hear from you what you would like to know!
Until next time family. For the long weekend I am off to the footy with my son who supports Western Bulldogs and a morning tea with some friends then probably need to clean my house! Happy WA Day.
