Learning in J05

Junior School J05 Higgins is sharing the learning taking place in their class…

In prep, we started our Indigenous Inquiry unit off with a bang!! 

We had our very first excursion for preps to the Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne.  We spent the day exploring the gardens with our guide Steve learning about local Indigenous culture. 

Students in J05 explored rock art by making paint, using Ochre and water.  We learned about native plants, bush tucker and how different tools were made and used.  We experienced drawing different tracks and had a great time exploring the playground after an enjoyable walk through the bush. 

The highlights for the majority of the students were riding on the bus and having a picnic lunch!
