From the Senior Sports Master
Many thanks to all of you who attended Oxford Falls for the first round of Winter Sports fixtures last weekend. It was so good to get back to a semblance of normality after last year's well-documented issues.
I must thank the parents who put on such a fantastic afternoon tea for our 1st and 2nd XV Rugby boys.
Could I encourage all of you to remind your sons not to become complacent with regards to the ongoing pandemic and remind you all to sign in using the NSW QR codes posted around our venues. I include a full copy of our Winter Sport Protocols for your information.
Could I also ask you to familiarise yourselves with the ISA Code of Conduct for Spectators which is attached below. We really do need to be the best role models for our boys.

ISA Tennis
Over the weekend we had an introduction to the season with just two of our teams, Divisions 14 and 16, playing against St Spyridon’s College at our home courts. Despite our players making a strong effort both teams were defeated. Well done to Liam Godfrey, Stephen Walter, Oliver Costain, Hugo Godfrey, William Kevans, Jayden Arapoc, William Fiore and Brendan Marr for their display of positive sportsmanship on the day. Congratulations goes to Year 7’s Will Kevans for best player of the day with his decisive wins in each of his sets.
The Saturday sees the rest of our Round 1 matches. Check the draw below carefully. Please remember that the new tennis shirt is now available from the uniform shop.

Senior Swimming Squad
On Monday evening three of our relay teams competed at the CIS Swimming Carnival. Our Junior Medley Relay team (Alex Davies, Jonathon Yang, Derek Jung, Andre Johnson) came 11th, our Intermediate Relay team (Aaron Lau, Bohan Johnson, Sebastian Wallace, Nicholas Gladen) achieved 9th and our Senior Freestyle Relay team (Connor Ryan, Tom Van Dijk, Max Hargreaves, Ben Ferguson) won their heat and managed to come 7th in the Final. Outstanding results!!!
On Tuesday, both Jonathon Yang and Nicholas Gladen had individual swims. Jonathon came 10th in the 200m Breaststroke and 12th in the 50m Breaststroke. Nicholas came 2nd in the 50 Backstroke, 3rd in the 50 Freestyle, 3rd in the 100 Backstroke 4th in the 200 Backstroke, 4th in the 50 Butterfly and 6th in the 50 Breaststroke. Nicholas’ fantastic results have netted him a spot in the CIS Swimming teams competing at the NSW All Schools Carnival on May 28. Absolutely outstanding results by all boys.
Not only did Nicholas Gladen do well for the ISA this week, he recently swam in the 2021 Swimming Age Nationals where he again, achieved outstanding results. He achieved a Silver in the 200 Backstroke and took 8 seconds off his PB, Silver in the 100 Backstroke, 9th in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.12s, 20th in the 100m Freestyle and 23rd in the 100m Breaststroke. He also was part of the Medley relay (Backstroke leg) that came 8th. He rubbed shoulders with a few Olympians during that meet but I think they may have rubbed shoulders with our future Olympian.
Well done to all the Pius swimmers. Good luck to Nicholas Gladen at the All Schools Meet when he represents the CIS in May.
