Year 4 Camp Adventures

The Year 4 students had a very successful camp experience at Camp Kookaburra in March. The weather was beautiful and the activities were adventurous, challenging and fun. Some of the highlights included canoeing, the pool, flying fox and orienteering.

I am proud of going in the pool even though it was freezing cold. I showed persistence because I finished the low ropes course, keeping on trying even if I fell off lots of times. I needed lots of teamwork in canoeing when paddling in time with my partner, which was very hard, but luckily, we were good at working together. -  By Anna Tan and Makoto Palmer

I showed persistence, determination and strength on the initiatives course, especially when working together on the climbing wall. I felt brave when I went swimming even though it was freezing. I loved how the orienteering really tested your intelligence and curiosity. With the canoeing, I felt my leadership and confidence really boosted, even though my arms really hurt afterwards. - Dolly Frawley and Isla Collard

My favourite activity was canoeing, we were very fast, but you had to be brave because you needed to keep your balance. I fell off a lot of times in low ropes, but I still had fun and I felt confident in the last low rope activity because I knew I could do it and had practised. I was a bit nervous at the zip line the first time because it looked long and high, but when I tried it out the second time I wasn’t nervous and really enjoyed it. By James Calnon

I liked how all the staff were very friendly and kind. It's a 2-hour long bus ride so bring something that’s not too loud and won’t make you bus sick to do. I was supporting my friend when she was worried about going down the Flying Fox. - Winnie Wilson

I am proud that I completed the zip line flying fox even though I am very scared of heights and that I actually got ‘some’ sleep. I think I showed that I could do the canoeing well and I showed kindness in the low ropes course because I helped my partner complete the activity. I could eat the food there because my mum says that I am fussy.Matilda Sarr-Quinn

Camp was really good because I learned a lot and got a bit of time out of my house without any of my family. On camp I also got a lot of free time with my friends on the tennis court and in my cabins. My favourite activity was canoeing where we had to cooperate to make the canoe move. - Orlando V.
