Meet our Learning Support Officers (LSOs)

Our Learning Support Officers.......

Tania Bourke

I have two adult children, one of whom is a secondary teacher and the other works in finance. Getting to know my students one on one and seeing them achieve their learning goals is very rewarding.

My main focus this year is literacy intervention support using such programs as MiniLit and Reading Tutor Program (4 days).  You may also see me working in the office on a Friday as administrative support to Kathy.

Tracie Birthisel

Hi my name is Tracey Birthisel and I have been a Learning Support Officer for 17 years.  My job is very rewarding and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the children each day as they learn and grow. I have two daughters, a wonderful husband and a dog named Sid who I enjoy taking on walks. I love spending time with my family.

Luisa Henderson

Hi there, I'm Luisa and I currently work in the 5/6 classrooms with some pretty awesome students and teachers.  I have in the past helped out in all year levels and I've loved each and everyone one of them.  I believe I have one of the best jobs around.  What a privilege and what fun!

Jo Kirkham

Hi my name is Jo Kirkham. I have had the pleasure of working at St. Anthony’s for the past 9 years. Prior to that I was also a parent at the school with my three children all completing their primary school education here. My children are now, 19,18 and 15 years old.

I was born in the country and moved to Melbourne to study to become a nurse. I nursed for 15 years at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. I then moved to working at a kindergarten supporting children with disabilities, before taking on the role of a Learning Support Officer at St. Anthony’s. I have worked in all year levels across the school, currently spending most of my time in the Prep/One classroom. I feel very fortunate to do a job that I love and to work in an area that I am passionate about. I really enjoy working with all of the students and staff here at our fantastic school.
