Wellbeing
We have two new student leadership groups that have started this term. The year six students who have devoted their time to these new initiatives are to be commended in the way they have worked together to provide extra support to our school community. Below is a description of both of these leadership roles.
Peer Support Leaders:
Our Peer Support Leaders support student’s positive experiences in the playground, building good relationships with their peers to support student wellbeing which builds a positive whole school culture. Peer support leaders work together collaboratively to solve authentic problems, facilitating cooperative play and creating positive connections with students on the yard.
As part of their role Peer Support Leaders;
- are available to offer assistance with finding friends, seeking help and positive interactions in the playground
- show empathy and support for others
- model the development of positive, caring and compassionate relationships that build connectedness amongst students.
Cabin Crew:

In this area students can use a number of recycled materials to create a playscape using their imagination, this type of play supports invention, divergent thinking, problem solving and offers a sense of wonder to children. Our Cabin Crew will help to facilitate the loose parts play by ensuring students are using the equipment safely and promoting cooperative play by creating positive connections between students.
