TIDY TUNES

Well, it was double J week down at the garden this week. John providing the tunes and Jagger working overtime tidying the garden precinct in time for the Easter holidays.   

The garden precinct has been crying out for some tidy tunes. The very talented John John offered to play some acoustic sessions for us during our lunch breaks. On Wednesday we sourced an amp and he upgraded to an electric guitar smashing out some of his favourite tunes to a packed house of 25 students. One of his favourite bands is The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. What a great vibe. Thanks John, you rock!

Our much loved VCAL students from St.Bedes (Tyler and Ben) joined Jagger on Tuesday to begin the mammoth task of a pre-holiday garden tidy. We filled the hopper, blew out the back shed, mowed the back lawns, cleaned out both sheds, and stacked all the empty plant pots. The 100m running track also had a clean for the first time this year.    

Over the past two weeks, the mighty Go-Go Gophers have spread all of Kenny’s mulch. We trust this will keep the winter weeds away. A special thanks to Mrs. Mertens and the teachers on duty last week for facilitating whilst I was away on school camp (paid holiday).  

This Saturday the much-awaited arrival of five guinea pigs will take place. Thanks Elizabeth and Mrs. Martin for donating. We are also awaiting confirmation on the possibility of a donation of two blue tongue lizards. The garden precinct has also had some very rustic seating dug in (thanks for the log supply Poppy Varney. Special delivery from Euroa!). 

In other animal news, Beyoncé has been isolated from the other chickens as she has a cold. We’ve moved her into the guinea pig enclosure and hope for a speedy recovery. She should be back in with the other girls in no time. We’ve blocked a hole in the finch enclosure where we think rats were getting in and the finches are all alive. Problem solved 🤞. Long live Rocky Balboa 💪.
